Chelsea face an important summer in the transfer market as they look to bounce back from two poor domestic campaigns.

Although Todd Boehly has overseen a spend of more than €1 billion on new players since arriving at the club in 2022, there has been no success to show for it, with the Stamford Bridge outfit finishing 12th last season and on course for another disappointing finish this time around.

Mauricio Pochettino arrived at the club last summer with the hope of turning their fortunes around, but another mid-table finish is on the cards for the richly assembled squad – and supporters are not happy.

Pochettino may even be sacked before the 2024-25 campaign starts, with his future under threat after a 5-0 loss to London rivals Arsenal.

Chelsea continue to target a raft of promising young players, but with the squad currently not delivering on the field, might they turn their attentions to more established stars going forward?

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen headlines Chelsea’s summer transfer targets, but the Blues are also looking at alternatives, and many other deals could well be completed in a bid to get their squad into shape.

Our Chelsea transfer live blog brings you all the latest news surrounding the Blues, including exclusives from our own reporters as well as checking out what the other big names are saying (including the likes of Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein).

There are expected to be many moves this summer with players coming and going, and the Stamford Bridge rumour mill is already in full swing.

Chelsea tipped for surprise move for Ramsdale

David Seaman believes Aaron Ramsdale needs to leave Arsenal.

Ramsdale has lost his status as number one goalkeeper at the Emirates and Seaman wants him to find another club to fulfil his potential.

"You aren’t going to develop being a No. 2. You're going to get left behind in the pecking order because other goalkeepers will start playing. As an Arsenal fan, I don't really want Aaron Ramsdale to go. But then as an ex-England goalkeeper, I want to see another keeper developing," Seaman told Parimatch.

"When I'm looking at it, I think he could go to somewhere like Chelsea to give himself a better shot of getting first team action. I think there are a few clubs who he would suit, maybe someone like West Ham too."

Fofana hopes

Chelsea hope to have Wesley Fofana back for pre-season ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

The centre-back's Chelsea career has been ravaged by injury so far and he is currently recovering from a serious knee injury, though he will be like a new signing when he becomes available next season.

"We hope to have Wes Fofana ready and available for pre-season," Mauricio Pochettino told reporters.

"He is doing well, very positive, we were talking and we hope he can be available to be part of the group".

Summer planning under way

Man Utd hope to beat Newcastle and Chelsea to Adarabioyo

Man Utd are planning to hijack Newcastle and Chelsea's pursuit of Tosin Adarabioyo.

Chelsea will accept discounted bids for Lukaku

Chelsea will let Romelu Lukaku leave for as little as £35 million this summer.

The Belgian signed for the Blues for £97.5 million in 2021 but has been unable to meet expectations and has went out on loan to Inter and Roma over the past two campaigns.

Chelsea want to sell him permanently, with Napoli, Roma and the Saudi Pro League potential destinations. (Football Insider)
