Transfer News LIVE - Every rumour, every done deal: Deadline Day success and failure

Now that the domestic season is over for all major European leagues, clubs can now focus on their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign, with a natural focus on recruitment.
The big spenders will be out in force again, with Real Madrid looking to back new boss Xabi Alonso, Chelsea keen to improve again after securing Champions League qualification, and Manchester United desperate to reclaim some kind of success after a disastrous season that saw them finish just three places above the relegation zone in the Premier League.
With the Club World Cup starting in a few days, clubs had to sign players before 10th June to ensure they could play in that tournament, so we did see some big deals happen earlier than usual this year.
Some questions that will hang over the transfer window this season:
- Will Viktor Gyokeres leave Sporting CP?
- Who will sign Victor Osimhen?
- How much can Barcelona spend?
- Will top players want to join Man Utd?
- Will Arsenal sign a world-class striker?

Fabian Ruiz wanted by United
Man Utd want to sign Fabian Ruiz from Paris Saint-Germain.
It remains to be seen whether a Champions League winner in one of the best teams in the world would want to sign for a side that finished 15th in the Premier League last season, but the Red Devils are looking to pursue a deal anyway.
PSG don't want to sell and there's been no mention of a valuation, but he has an Estimated Transfer Value of €32.4 million. (Foot Mercato)

Internal issues at Inter?
There seems to be issues within the Inter squad as following the Club World Cup exit at the hands of Fluminense, Lautaro Martinez said:
“I want to fight for top titles. Who wants to stay at Inter, very good and let’s fight. Who doesn’t want to stay, they can go and leave. We need players who want to be here. We are wearing an important jersey. We need top mentality or please, leave”.
Inter president Giuseppe Marotta reacted to those comments, calling out Hakan Calhanogly specifically: “Lautaro’s message on players who don’t want to stay? He didn’t say… but I’ll say that. It was for Hakan Calhanoglu. We will speak with Hakan. If there will be conditions to part ways, we will do it with ZERO problems”.

Transfer Vibe Check - Harvey Elliott
United release NINE players
Man Utd released nine players at the end of their contracts this morning.
Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans, Hubert Graczyk, Jack Kingdon, Sam Murray, Tom Myles, James Nolan and Tom Wooster will all move on to pastures new.
That is, of course, apart from Evans, who has moved into a development role with the club.
Villa will definitely not sign Rashford
Aston Villa will not sign Marcus Rashford on a permanent basis from Man Utd.
The forward spent the second half of last season on loan at Villa after falling out of favour with Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford. He will definitely leave Man Utd this summer, with Barcelona his preferred option, though his high wages may prove a stumbling block.
The Mirror reports that the current plan is for Rashford to return to United for pre-season as Villa won't be paying the £40 million fee required to sign him permanently.
Chelsea not done spending
Chelsea are on the cusp of signing Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens but will continue spending in the transfer market this summer.
Their summer outlay will exceed €245 million once Gittens and Pedro are both formally unveiled by the club, following the arrivals of Liam Delap, Estevao Willian, Dario Essugo, Mamadou Sarr and Kendry Paez.
Fabrizio Romano says they aren't done, writing on Instagram: “Chelsea are not messing around. Four additions to their attacking department are set to be added for the upcoming season, all deals sealed. Jamie Gittens from BVB. Estevao Willian from Palmeiras. Joao Pedro from Brighton. Liam Delap from Ipswich. [Plus] Geovany Quenda in 2026 from Sporting. And yes, they’re not done yet on the market.”
United make contact with Ollie Watkins
Man Utd have approached Aston Villa over a potential deal for Ollie Watkins.
The Red Devils are keen to add a top-class striker to their squad ahead of next season after less-than-convincing showings from Rasmus Hojlund, with Marcus Rashford also set to leave the club.
The dream acquisition would be Viktor Gyokeres but he fancies a move to Arsenal more, so United have looked to the Premier League, with Watkins a capable alternative.
Arsenal attempted to sign Watkins in January but couldn't agree a few with Villa. (Athletic)
