Neymar back in the Champions League: Brazil star makes transfer demand
Brazil centre-back Gleison Bremer has called on Juventus to sign Santos megastar Neymar.
The veteran attacker is back at his boyhood club after a nightmare spell at Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, but transfer speculation is never too far away when it comes to the world's most expensive player.
Neymar initially rejoined Santos on a six-month deal with a view to returning to Europe this summer, but he recently decided to extend his stay until the end of the Brazilian season in the winter.
However, since then, things appear to have turned sour, and Neymar is now increasingly being linked with an early departure from Santos. Recently, Marseille were credited with an interest in the 33-year-old.
However, club sources swiftly moved to dismiss these rumours as 'complete nonsense.' Nevertheless, the Brazilian's illustrious name still holds a certain appeal in European circles.
Bremer approves of Neymar move
Juventus are now the latest club to be associated with a move for Neymar, although these links appear to be more conjecture than anything concrete.
Indeed, the rumours stem from a comment recently made by star defender Gleison Bremer. The Brazilian was asked by Gazzetta dello Sport about his compatriot in light of the fact that ageing stars like Luka Modric and Kevin de Bruyne have moved to Italy for a 'last dance' this summer.
Naturally, the centre-back was in favour of a reunion with Neymar at club level: "Of course! It would be great to have someone like Ney here at Juve."
Due to these comments, the Italian outlet has explored whether such a deal would be feasible, drawing comparisons to Juventus' previous blockbuster signing of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Incidentally, Ronaldo was also 33 when he made the move to Italy, and the two share a birthday. That's where the similarities end, though. Neymar would be a more financially sustainable arrival, but signing him would require the help of sponsors.
The prospect of giving Neymar a route back into the Champions League is an enticing one, but it is not something that Juventus will be seriously considering at the moment.
