‘€90m Barella is one of the three best midfielders in Europe’

Inter sensation Nicolo Barella has been labelled as one of the best three midfielders in Europe by former Italy star Nicola Berti.

Barella has been in outstanding form for the Nerazzurri this season, earning widespread acclaim for his all-action performances in midfield.

Having grabbed a goal and assist in January in the big Scudetto win over Juventus, Barella scored again with a stunning long-range curler in the 2-0 victory over Fiorentina on Friday.

His performances have inspired Inter to the top of the Serie A table, although rivals Milan will return to the summit if they beat Crotone on Sunday.

“Barella is one of the top three midfielders in Europe and he is worth €90 million,” Berti told Tuttosport.

“Surely, he is the best midfielder in Italy, even if there is not the same competition there was when I was a footballer.

“There are more foreign players in Serie A, but if he is the best midfielder in Italy, then he must be one of the best in Europe and for me he is among the top three.

“He is irreplaceable for Inter, he is one of those players who always gives something more.

“Barella being an Inter fan makes him even cooler.

“I like to see how he plays and I believe he still has room for improvement. He scored a great goal against Juventus in Serie A. These kind of goals make fans go crazy.

“He is a complete midfielder, he runs, scores and delivers assists. Inter always score when he puts a cross in. Believe me, it’s not because of good luck. He is a champion, and he always knows what to do.”

Barella has made eight goal contributions for Inter in Serie A alone this season.
