Celtic set to complete DREAM Liverpool transfer
Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson is reportedly open to reaching a pre-contract agreement with Celtic ahead of a possible Bosman transfer next summer.
The Scotland international is into the final year of his current deal at Liverpool and it’s understood that Arne Slot’s side are yet to initiate contract extension talks with the former Hull City star.
Robertson started the 2025-26 season as Liverpool’s second-choice left-back following the arrival of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, however he has worked his way back into favour in recent weeks and he has now started four of the Reds’ last five matches across all competitions.
Despite this, TEAMtalk have reported that Robertson is willing to rejoin Celtic in 2026 following a spell at the club as a teenager.
The 31-year-old is a boyhood Celtic fan and it’s claimed that a free transfer move back to the Bhoys could be on the cards next summer, with Robertson open to agreeing a deal when the January transfer opens in the New Year.
Celtic are understood to be eager to bring the Scotland star back to Glasgow and they are now ready to launch advanced talks over a Bosman deal.
Andy Robertson to complete Celtic transfer?
Back in 2022, Robertson admitted that he often thinks about completing a sensational return to Celtic Park, despite his desire to end his playing career at Liverpool.
“Every time I watch Celtic, I consider it,” he revealed (via The Daily Record). “When you watch them and see a packed Celtic Park... as a fan you always have that dream.
“Ideally I want to finish my career here at Liverpool. If I can stay at the top of my game, at the top of the tree my whole career, that’s the route I want to go down.
“But also, when I look at Celtic and when I was growing up, I was thinking I wanted to give them my best years. When I was at Queen’s Park I had a dream of still playing with Celtic and always dreamed of giving my best years to Celtic.
“And now I don’t want to go as a 34 or 35-year-old old guy that my uncles start hating on me because I can’t move any more! Time will tell. I’m very much a person who lives in the moment.
“I don’t look too far ahead and I don’t often look back. There will be a time for that.”
