Rangers target €6.5m striker: Familiar face could make Ibrox return
Rangers are searching for a striker to help support Cyriel Desser and Hamza Igamane, and it appears that they have earmarked a leading target for the job.
Russell Martin’s side have already signed 11 different players this summer, but one area that the new manager has been unable to address is the centre-forward role.
Mikey Moore, Djeidi Gassama, Oliver Antman and Oscar Cortes have joined on the wings and now it appears that Martin will get his new No.9.
Rangers ready to target Miovski
Former Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski has emerged as a leading candidate to join Rangers, according to Sky Sports.
The North Macedonia international forward left the Dons to sign for Girona last summer for €6.5 million but made only 23 appearances and scored four goals.
Sky Sports reports: “A move for Miovski, or other forward targets, could depend on the movement of Russell Martin’s current options – with Hamza Igamane and Cyriel Dessers among those linked with moves away from Ibrox.
“It is believed Miovski is also wanted by clubs across Europe, and has been left out of Girona's squad to travel to Villarreal on Sunday to consider where his future lies.”
Miovski, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €2.2m had started his side’s opening La Liga match of the season but was taken off after 43 minutes following a red card to goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga.
The 26-year-old had an excellent record while with Aberdeen, where he scored 44 times in 98 appearances.
Miovski had a particularly good record against Rangers as he scored four times in nine appearances against the Gers, but next time he goes to Ibrox, he could find himself in the colours of the Glasgow giants.
