Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has put the German champions out of the running to sign Kylian Mbappe, saying they will not even bother talking to PSG about a transfer for the World Cup winner.

Since emerging on the scene at Monaco and then his subsequent transfer to PSG, Mbappe has developed into one of the most devastating forwards in world football, and one of the most sought-after players by every elite club in Europe.

  • The summer of 2021 could present a transfer merry-go-round with Lionel Messi recently tipped to finally leave Barcelona, with PSG looking the most likely destination as FootballTransfers revealed this week.

Should Messi sign for PSG that could present Mbappe with the opportunity to leave the club and move on to pastures new, with a transfer to Real Madrid having already been rumoured several times.

Mbappe idolised Cristiano Ronaldo when at Real Madrid as a child, and with compatriot Zinedine Zidane at the helm at the Santiago Bernabeu, for now, it seems like the perfect fit for the player to become a new Galactico at some point.

He has also been linked with Liverpool in the past, but one major club who won’t be getting involved in a bidding war is Bayern.

Rummenigge has categorically said that Bayern will not enter the race for Mbappe, and that he will personally not “even bother” PSG chairman Nasser Al Khelaifi with a discussion about his player

“I love Mbappé and the way he plays, but we will never get him to come to Bayern,” the Bayern chairmain told French outlet Le Figaro.

“Either way, he’s fine where he is. Nasser Al Khelaifi is a good friend of mine. I’m not going to bother him with this.”

Mbappe has been in excellent form in the 2020/21 Ligue 1 season, scoring 11 goals and recording four assists in eight starts for the Parisiens so far.

He recently said that any move away from PSG will be decided by himself and his family.
