Now that the domestic season is over for all major European leagues, clubs can now focus on their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign, with a natural focus on recruitment.

The big spenders will be out in force again, with Real Madrid looking to back new boss Xabi Alonso, Chelsea keen to improve again after securing Champions League qualification, and Manchester United desperate to reclaim some kind of success after a disastrous season that saw them finish just three places above the relegation zone in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have signed Matheus Cunha, with Man City also flexing their financial power to sign Tijani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli and Rayan Cherki.

Some big deals happened earlier than usual due to the Club World Cup and the deadline for participation in that tournament is now over, though the window remains open.

The biggest deal so far this summer saw Florian Wirtz complete a blockbuster transfer to Liverpool from Leverkusen.

Some questions that will hang over the transfer window this season:

  • Will Viktor Gyokeres leave Sporting CP?
  • Who will sign Victor Osimhen?
  • How much can Barcelona spend?
  • Will top players want to join Man Utd?
  • Will Arsenal sign a world-class striker?

Chelsea handed blow in striker hunt

Chelsea's hunt for a new striker will continue into the summer as Randal Kolo Muani is desperate to stay at Juventus.

The French forward spent the second half of last season on loan at Juve from Paris Saint-Germain and continues to represent the Italian giants at the Club World Cup. The Blues had hoped to speak to PSG about bringing him to Stamford Bridge, but he wants a permanent transfer to Turin.

“I have no doubts: I want to stay at Juventus," Muani said to reporters.

"I am trying to focus on the Club World Cup, which is a very fast competition. Once the tournament is over, we will see what happens on the market. However, I am really happy at Juventus, I feel good."

Man Utd table improved Mbeumo bid

Man Utd have bid £60 million for Bryan Mbeumo.

The Brentford attacker is currently United's number one transfer target following the acquisition of Matheus Cunha as Ruben Amorim looks to overhaul his forward line.

The Bees previously rejected a bid of around £55m but United seem undeterred and they hope to conclude a deal before Tottenham take their interest further. (Sky Sports)

Rodrygo asking price revealed

Real Madrid will consider selling Rodrygo this summer if an offer of €90 million arrives.

The Brazilian isn't happy with his status at Los Blancos following the arrival of Kylian Mbappe last summer, while the club have spent big on another forward this summer - Franco Mastantuano.

Arsenal are keen admirers of Rodrygo but so far this summer their priority has been a new centre-forward rather than a winger. (Cadena Sar)

Arsenal join Barcola hunt

Arsenal are interested in signing Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool and Bayern Munich have expressed an interest too, previously, but the Champions League winner is viewed as a key member of Luis Enrique's squad and the club have no intention of letting him go which is why they's slapped a healthy €120 million price tag on his head. (L'Equipe)
