Messi’s PSG nightmare set to continue with fresh injury blow

Lionel Messi’s troubled start to life at Paris Saint-Germain is set to continue with the news that he will likely miss Wednesday’s Champions League meeting with RB Leipzig.
Messi moved to PSG in August following the breakdown of negotiations with Barcelona due to the Catalan club not having a way to fit him into their wage structure.
Since making the switch to the Ligue 1 side, though, Messi has struggled to recapture his trademark magic.

He netted a brilliant goal against Manchester City to get off the mark for his new side and also struck twice against Leipzig when they visited Parc des Princes a fortnight ago, but he is still waiting to find the net in Ligue 1.
Messi has been hampered by injury issues and international duty when it has come to integrating with his new side and he is set to be dealt a further blow.
Le Parisien reports that he is extremely uncertain to play against RB Leipzig on Wednesday, with Amazon Prime suggesting that he has already been ruled out.
Messi was withdrawn at half-time in a Ligue 1 encounter with Lille on Friday after a disappointing first-half display because of an injury he was carrying in the lead up to the game. Head coach Mauricio Pochettino sought to play down the issue, but after the player failed to train on Monday, the suspicion is that he will not be involved in midweek.
Messi admits he’s still finding his feet
In an interview published by Sport on Monday, Messi admitted he is still finding his feet.
“Little by little, I’m becoming used to the dynamic of the club because even if I’ve been here for two months, I’ve still not played many matches,” he admitted. “I’m still getting used to things.
“It’s a physical league where there is a lot of back and forth, where the players are strong and fast. On a physical level, it changes a lot.”
Should Messi fail to play in Leipzig, he will hope to return for the trip to Bordeaux on Saturday.
