Real Madrid make record-breaking Olise bid
Real Madrid are determined to sign Michael Olise from Bayern Munich and have offered the Bundesliga giants a record fee for the France international star.
Olise has lit up Bayern this season, delivering 16 goals and 29 assists across all competitions so far this season.
This has led to speculation that both Real Madrid and Liverpool could launch massive offers to sign the London-born winger in the summer.
Real Madrid ready to pay €165m for Olise
Los Blancos are eager to sign the 24-year-old and are ready to make a bid worth €160-165 million, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk.
Although this would represent a huge profit for Bayern given they signed Olise for €53m from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024, they have no appetite to sell.
Jan-Christian Dreesen, CEO of the Bavarians, recently said: "No matter which club tries to sign him, anyone who plays for FC Bayern knows what they have at FC Bayern. We're not worried about it. He's a Bayern Munich player and benefits here from all the opportunities a top player should have. Michael is under contract with us until 2029, without a release clause; we're confident.”
Real Madrid’s offer would smash their transfer record, which is the €115m they paid Chelsea to sign Eden Hazard in 2019, but it is unlikely to be one that tempts Bayern to change this stance.
Olise’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €141m, which makes him the most valuable French player, coming in ahead even of Kylian Mbappe.
What Bayern are being offered is a marginal amount greater than the player’s worth. There is little incentive for them to sell for such a small percentage gain.
Previously, there had been reports that Los Blancos would be prepared to pay up to €200m for Olise, but these had come from a less reliable source.
Olise is already better than Mbappe
The Bernabeu was treated to an Olise masterclass in midweek as the winger helped Bayern to a 2-1 Champions League victory against Real Madrid. He terrorised left-back Alvaro Carreras and delivered an assist in what was a highly accomplished display.
"I watched the game against Real Madrid. It was a great game to watch, and he was outstanding. His end to the season is incredible. This isn't his ceiling; he can still do better!" his former manager at Crystal Palace, Oliver Glassner, enthused.
Glassner’s opinion is shared by that of data analytics firm SciSports, which analyses hundreds of in-game data points to give players a skill rating. Currently, Olise is stronger than Mbappe, who is Real Madrid’s superstar, and also has a better rating than Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal. And there’s more to come from the 24-year-old.
This is the level that has left both Real Madrid and Liverpool both eager to sign the winger, yet it will take something spectacular to prompt Bayern to sell – even more than Los Blancos’ record €165m offer.
