Real Madrid to receive record-breaking offer for Jude Bellingham
Manchester United are preparing an initial offer worth €120 million for Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham, according to reports in Spain.
The England international has three years remaining on his current contract at the Bernabeu, but transfer rumours in the Spanish media have suggested that a move to the Premier League could potentially be on the cards in 2026.
Chelsea have been tentatively linked with a swoop for the 22-year-old, amid their pursuit of additional reinforcements this summer, while Man Utd are also known admirers, having missed out on his signature before he joined Borussia Dortmund in 2020.
The Red Devils have now rekindled their interest in Bellingham, due to concerns that Bruno Fernandes could depart Old Trafford later this year, and they have prepared an opening offer of €120m, according to Fichajes. If a deal is finalised for this price, Bellingham would become the most expensive sale in Real Madrid's history, eclipsing the €117m fee that Juventus paid to sign Cristiano Ronaldo back in 2018.
It’s claimed that Man Utd could even increase their bid to the €150m mark if negotiations progress, with the club eager to bring Bellingham to the club as they look to seriously compete for major honours once again next term.
The 13-time Premier League champions have enjoyed a recent resurgence under interim boss Michael Carrick, following the departure of Ruben Amorim in January, and they are on course to qualify for the Champions League if they maintain their current run of form.
Verdict: Will Jude Bellingham leave Real Madrid?
Despite significant interest from Man Utd, it’s reported that Bellingham is unlikely to consider a Real Madrid exit in the near future, while Los Blancos also have no intention of sanctioning a sale.
However, Man Utd reportedly remain optimistic that an agreement can be finalised as they aim to complete a blockbuster summer deal.
Bellingham, who has scored six goals in 28 games for Real Madrid so far this season, has also been linked with a return to Birmingham City, with Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight of the opinion that a move back to his boyhood club could be on the cards in 2031.
