Fire Alonso or I leave: Vini Jr issues stunning Real Madrid ULTIMATUM
Vinicius Junior has allegedly handed a bombshell ultimatum to Real Madrid by telling the club that he will not renew his contract if Xabi Alonso remains as manager.
Contract negotiations between Los Blancos and Vini have hit a standstill, with the Brazilian winger’s salary demands proving a stumbling block, while tension has seemingly grown between the player and Alonso.
Having been forced to apologise for his reaction to being substituted against Barcelona last month, Vinicius refused to acknowledge Alonso in his statement and the pair’s relationship is said to be at breaking point.
And, according to YouTuber ‘Pepe Kollins’, Vini Jr has told president Florentino Perez that he has a choice: him or Alonso, with Madrid being forced to sell him next year if a new contract is not agreed.
"Vini told Florentino that if Xabi Alonso is the coach next year, he won't renew his contract. That's what happened a few days ago ," Pepe Kollins stated on X via Defensa Central. "Vinicius leaked this.”
Real Madrid are still keen on tying Vinicius Jr down to a new contract but they would consider his departure for a fee of €150 million, which has led to recent links to teams such as Chelsea.
Mbappe refuses to back Alonso amid Real Madrid discontent rumours
While reports of an ultimatum have yet to be verified by other sources, there does appear to be a lack of harmony between Alonso and his star players despite only failing to win three games this season.
Two of the club’s three dropped results have come in Madrid’s most recent matches and Kylian Mbappe raised eyebrows with his refusal to back Alonso after France’s 4-0 win over Ukraine on Thursday.
“What do you want me to say? I have nothing to say,” he said when asked about the relationship between Alonso and his players. “When you don’t win matches at Real Madrid, people talk a lot, and we haven’t won the last two. We played very badly, but we’ll be back after the break, ready to beat Elche.
“In the end, we’re top of La Liga and among the top eight in the Champions League. It’s not perfect, but we all know that when things aren’t working on the pitch, people talk and talk some more. But we’re united to win every title this year.”
