Santos attacker Neymar has been offered to Inter Miami as he seeks to keep his dream of featuring at the 2026 World Cup alive, according to a report.

The Brazilian megastar has been playing with boyhood club Santos again since the start of the year, following his exit from Al-Hilal, where he had endured a torrid - but lucrative - 18 months.

Although Neymar fielded some summer interest from Europe, with Napoli mulling over his signing for months, he ultimately opted to extend his short-term Santos deal by a further six months until the end of the Brazilian season in the winter.

The 33-year-old has shown some glimpses of his prodigious talent, but his all-too-familiar injury problems have often reared their ugly head again, and Santos are massively struggling in Serie A, which has affected his international prospects.

Neymar hasn't played for Brazil since October 2023. He is currently not in the frame for the 2026 World Cup, but he dreams of competing at one final big tournament with his country and is willing to do whatever it takes to get Carlo Ancelotti's attention.

To that end, the player's representatives believe that he could attract more of the spotlight by moving to one of the host nations of the World Cup, chiefly the United States.

Neymar has repeatedly spoken about his plans to play in Major League Soccer at some stage in his career, and 2026 could offer him the perfect opportunity. He has also said that he would love to play with former Barcelona and PSG teammate Lionel Messi again.

Unsurprisingly, then, the Daily Mail reports that Neymar has been offered to Inter Miami, and the star-studded MLS franchise is exploring the feasibility of such a move.

Prior to his return to Santos, three MLS clubs attempted to sign Neymar, but Miami were surprisingly not among them, despite the comments made by co-owner Jorge Mas that there are essentially 'unlimited funds' available to sign a player of the Brazilian's calibre.

The Chicago Fire hold Neymar's 'Discovery Rights,' so Miami would first have to acquire them to be able to negotiate a deal with Neymar. Indeed, the report mentions that no talks have as yet taken place.

Inter Miami, who are gunning for their first MLS Cup in the upcoming playoffs, are preparing for a major transition in the offseason, with Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets retiring.

The two are being replaced by Sergio Reguilon and Rodrigo de Paul, who is already on loan at Miami, but there is bound to be plenty more movement. If Miami were indeed to sign Neymar, they would likely have to offload one of their Designated Players beforehand.
