Fabrizio Romano confirms Real Madrid Endrick January transfer talks for Man Utd target
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that talks have already begun for Endrick to leave Real Madrid this winter after speculation linking the out-of-favour forward to Manchester United.
Endrick has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since the summer which ruled the 19-year-old out of the Club World Cup and the start of the season, although he is believed to be back in training after the absence.
However, having only scored one goal in 22 La Liga appearances during his debut season last year, Endrick is unlikely to receive significant minutes under Xabi Alonso, leading to the desire from both Madrid and the player for a loan move in January ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
United are among the clubs that have been linked with a move for the Brazilian but Romano has disclosed news of talks between Madrid and Lyon, with the Ligue 1 side said to have made an official approach to sign Endrick on loan.
The forward is described as being open to talks and assessing all options, although Romano told GIVEMESPORT that he is not willing to leave Los Blancos permanently.
Romano stated that Endrick still loves Madrid and believes a loan is the best way to save his career, improve and find trust at the club after a difficult start to life in Spain since his €47.5 million transfer last summer.
Endrick ‘not ruling out’ Man Utd transfer
United are thought to have an interest in Endrick as a depth signing for January, while the player has not ruled out a move to the Premier League even with interest from clubs all across Europe.
However, Endrick is believed to prefer a move to a club playing in a European competition and the teenager is aware that he is unlikely to get minutes in the Premier League for a top club.
The likes of Wolves, Marseille and Real Sociedad have also all been linked with Endrick but Lyon could emerge as frontrunners for his signature after entering formal talks with Madrid.
Much will also depend on Endrick’s decision as he looks to ensure he builds enough minutes and momentum to play a part in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for next summer’s World Cup.
