Xabi Alonso’s side are expected to prioritise bringing a new central midfielder to the club next year and they have now earmarked Mac Allister as a possible solution amid his eye-catching form at Anfield.

That is according to Fichajes, who claim that Real Madrid have already submitted a bid worth €120m for the Argentina international.

Mac Allister is reportedly seen as the “missing piece” of Real Madrid’s midfield roster and they are expected to launch a full-blown pursuit of his signature next summer, with €120m touted as a possible transfer fee.

Real Madrid finalised the signing of Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold in June and they are widely expected to land Ibrahima Konate on a Bosman deal when his contract at Anfield expires next season.

Meanwhile, Los Blancos have also been heavily tipped to pursue a move for Ryan Gravenberch in 2026, and Mac Allister is the latest Liverpool star to emerge as a top target for the Spanish giants.

Liverpool to sell Alexis Mac Allister to Real Madrid?

The arrival of Florian Wirtz has provided additional competition for Mac Allister at Liverpool, although the Reds still view him as a pivotal member of Slot’s first-team squad and they are unlikely to sanction a departure.

Mac Allister, who has made 101 appearances for Liverpool since his arrival from Brighton & Hove Albion, still has three years remaining on his current contract at Anfield, and he is the eighth-most valuable player in world football (€134.6m), as per FootballTransfers’ in-house algorithm.

In addition to the Liverpool star, Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on the likes of Angelo Stiller, Enzo Fernandez and Kobbie Mainoo as they look to land a new central midfielder in 2026.
