Spanish media claims that Kylian Mbappe's Real Madrid move is imminent and reveals Los Blancos' budget for the star forward.

Is the Frenchman's transfer saga about to come to an end? Paris Saint-Germain are trying to force the 24-year-old out of the club after he informed them that he will not trigger the extension clause in his contract. Unwilling to let him walk for free next summer, PSG are shopping him to the highest bidder - well, kind of.

The French giants accepted Al-Hilal's world-record €300 million offer for Mbappe, but the player rejected the Riyadh club's approaches despite the eye-watering financial package on offer and the length of the deal: Al-Hilal were ready to pay him a base salary of €200m and commercial revenues for one season, allowing him to still sign for Real Madrid for free next year.

'It's about to end...'

PSG have long been operating on the assumption that Mbappe, in cahoots with Real Madrid since last year, already has an agreement with Los Blancos to move to the Spanish capital next year.

Now, it appears that an agreement has truly been reached, at least if Radio Marca is to be believed. Ramon Alvarez de Mon has claimed that Madrid have a budget of €230m available to sign the Frenchman this summer, with some of the money going to PSG and the rest to Mbappe.

Specific details of how this money would be distributed or how Los Blancos would finance such an endeavour after already spending north of €100m on Jude Bellingham were not disclosed.

Moreover, Alvarez de Mon asserted that "this is close to coming to an end, Mbappe is close to becoming a Real Madrid player." Whether there is actually anything to this remains to be seen - MARCA have made plenty of incendiary claims in recent weeks that have turned out to be false - but according to David Ornstein, the consensus around Europe's top clubs is indeed that Mbappe will eventually end up a Galactico.
