Real Madrid have enjoyed a stable transfer window in which they have strengthened their squad with the arrivals of Aurelien Tchouameni and Antonio Rudiger.

While president Florentino Perez has admitted that there is little scope for change before the transfer deadline, late changes of plan are always possible, particularly as there are some players that Los Blancos would ideally like to shift from their books.

But who could depart before the summer is over?

Eden Hazard

Hazard has been a problem for Real Madrid almost since he arrived from Chelsea in the summer of 2019. He has struggled to stay fit and has seen his level fall away from that of potential Ballon d’Or winner in incredible fashion. On top of all this, he commands a huge wage. With Gareth Bale leaving, there is no particular urgency to shift Hazard, but Real Madrid would surely love a suitable offer.

Mariano Diaz

Re-signing Mariano from Lyon in 2018 was an ill-judged move on the part of Real Madrid, who took the forward back on a five-year deal after he had previously spent much of his career at the Bernabeu with the reserves. Rarely gets a look in with regards the first team and is out of contract next summer. He is another player they would love to shift.

Marco Asensio

Asensio is in the final year of his contract with Real Madrid and will not be offered a new deal, according to reports in Spain. He has hinted that he is unhappy with his current lack of stability, so the possibility for a late move in the transfer window is very much alive.

Dani Ceballos

Not entirely out of the first-team picture at Real Madrid, as his entry into the UEFA Super Cup in midweek proved, but the 26-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and is another who could go if a good offer was made. He only played a total of 338 minutes last season, albeit he sat around half of it out because of an ankle injury.

Adriano Odriozola

Deemed surplus to requirements last season when he was sent on loan to Fiorentina, right-back Odriozola finds his path to the first team comprehensively blocked by Dani Carvajal. The 2020/21 season was his last full season at the club and during it he managed less than 1000 minutes of pitch time.

It is important to note, however, that with a relatively small squad, Real Madrid would likely seek to replace any of these outgoing players with new signings.
