Bayern pull out of De Jong race

Bayern Munich will not engage in any more transfer activity for this summer is complete and they won’t be making any more moves, ending any hopes of a Frenkie de Jong transfer.
Barcelona’s De Jong had been linked with several clubs this summer as the Blaugrana looked to let go of the midfielder to help their financial situation.
Manchester United have shown the greatest interest and began negotiations 16 weeks ago, but a move hasn’t materialized and De Jong is still a Barcelona player.
There is the situation around De Jong’s deferred wages, which came as a result of a contractual agreement he entered in October 2020, which is causing issues in this deal.

Barcelona are open to keeping the player for the upcoming season, but only if he agrees to a salary reduction of about 50 percent, which De Jong is not keen on, seeing as he’s already owed wages.
Bayern considered the possibility of signing De Jong this summer, but that is not going to happen as they look to have a quiet time over and get past the transfer deadline, according to Bild.
The German side have already signed the likes of Sadio Mane, Matthijs de Ligt and Ryan Gravenberch, and don’t want to add anymore to their team.

They were considering the option of bringing De Jong to the Allianz Arena on loan – similar to what they did for Philippe Coutinho in 2019-20 – but that has now been ruled out.
De Jong has interest from other clubs like Chelsea, and reportedly would be keen on moving to a club playing in the Champions League, something Manchester United can’t provide in the upcoming campaign.
As of now, it looks likely that he will stay at Barcelona unless some club makes a late move for him – it’s reported that Manchester United are considering that as they hope to bring in Erik ten Hag’s primary transfer target.
