Real Madrid open to Dani Olmo move according to player’s agent

Real Madrid could potentially sign Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig at some point in the future, according to the Spaniard’s agent Andy Bara.

Olmo is a product of Barcelona’s youth academy but took the bold step to leave the Camp Nou for Dinamo Zagreb in 2014 at just 16-years-old.

He made his debut in February of 2015 and would benefit from the first-team football at a young age, going on to make various appearances in the Champions League as well as winning the Croatian First Division on five occasions.

In 2018, he was named Player of the Year for the Prva HNL.

Olmo’s performances would earn him a transfer to RB Leipzig last January, and since then he has gone from strength to strength, effortlessly adapting to life in the Bundesliga.

His development has not gone unnoticed by bigger clubs, with rumours circulating that Real Madrid are interested in bringing him back to Spain.

When asked about his client’s future recently, Bara confirmed Madrid’s interest.

“Olmo is doing very well in Leipzig, everything is going in the right direction, he is absolutely satisfied, everyone at the club is satisfied,” he told Croatian outlet Sportske Novosti.

“Of course, as the player’s representative, I cannot comment, but all I can say is that Real Madrid has not closed the door (on a future deal).”

A few years ago, Liverpool bought midfielder Naby Keita from RB Leipzig for £54 million (€61m), and Olmo’s agent claims this figure would need to be eclipsed if Real Madrid are hoping to land the 22-year-old.

“I can also say that the future transfer of Dani Olmo will probably be a record in the history of Leipzig,” he added.

Within the same report from Sportske Novosti, it is suggested that Real Madrid will have to pay around €70m if they are to complete the transfer of the talented attacking midfielder.
