Dest: Why I chose Barca over Bayern

Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest has declared why he joined the Spanish giants over Bayern Munich.
Dest, then playing for Dutch side Ajax, seemed on the verge of a move to the Bundesliga, but at the last minute joined Barcelona instead.
In an interview with the Associated Press, the American revealed by he chose Barca at the expense of the reigning European champions.

“Why Barça and not Bayern? It was not easy, easy, but it is the club of my dreams,” said Dest.
“That is why I chose Barça. I saw possibilities. They had new players for the team. [Ronald] Koeman … wanted me at Barça , so I thought they had a good plan with me. And right now I’m playing, so I’m happy.
“I owed him this opportunity because you never know when this kind of opportunity will arise.”
Dest also spoke about making his debut for the team he supported.
“I was not nervous at all, it’s just that I’m ready and happy to play. If I was nervous, I shouldn’t have come to Barça. For me, this is the time to show what I have, to try to do my best and to help the team.”
Dest has made six appearances in La Liga for Barcelona since his arrival.
The Catalan giants signed Dest for a fee believed to be in the region of €21m plus €5m in add-ons.
Dest is a USA international, and has earned six caps, with his debut coming against Mexico in September 2019 in a 3-0 loss.
