Le Normand emerged from the Brest academy, where he garnered experience with their second team, making 39 appearances. However, his senior debut for the French club was limited to just one league outing before making the transition to Real Sociedad in 2016. He was initially drafted in their B-team and wasn't until 2018 that he earned his promotion to the first team. But since then, he has become a staple of the club.
Le Normand was born in France but, after acquiring Spanish nationality, he switched allegiance last year and is now a part of Spain’s national team. He has become a regular in the top flight since the 2019/20 season, but has really flourished this season in La Liga as well as Sociedad's Champions League campaign.
He is recognised for his physical prowess and adeptness in tackling, which is probably why Napoli had been eyeing him as a replacement for Kim Min-jae not too long ago.
Considered an old-school defender, his best attributes lie more on strength and determination rather than finesse on the ball.
But he is still a capable passer, delivering precise long passes to begin attacks, while possessing the ability to carry the ball as well.
