Victor Osimhen has admitted he has ‘already made up’ his mind about the next step in his career, with the Napoli striker strongly linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer.

Osimhen has established himself as arguably the most coveted striker in Europe, having led Napoli to the Serie A title last season with 26 goals in 32 games.

The 25-year-old has continued his fine form into this campaign despite Napoli’s struggles by scoring seven goals in 11 starts and he recently penned a new contract with the Italian side which is believed to contain a release clause of more than €100 million.

Osimhen has been somewhat candid over his future and told CBS Sports that his goal was to finish the season strongly before confirming the decision he has ‘already made’.

"At the end of the season, I think I already made up my mind,” Osimhen said. “I already know what I wanna do with my career, since I've started, I've been the one taking my own decision and everything is working out well for me. Even though when I started it, it didn't go so well as planned.

“But I already have my plan, I already know what I want to do, the next step I want to take. So for now I just want to finish the season strong, go relax somewhere with my daughter, and then finally come up with the decision I've already made."

Premier League the likely landing spot for Osimhen

The likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Real Madrid are expected to make the biggest push for Osimhen in the summer, however Chelsea are widely considered frontrunners to sign the Nigerian.

Osimhen has long spoken of his affection for Didier Drogba, having seen the Ivorian star for Chelsea while he was a child and he has previously hinted he wishes to emulate the striker, perhaps by playing for his former club.

Drogba met Osimhen prior to Nigeria’s match against the Ivory Coast at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, fuelling speculation that the seeds were being planted by the Chelsea legend to convince the forward to follow in his footsteps at Stamford Bridge.

Osimhen’s path to the Premier League appears a foregone conclusion, with the player having admitted of his ‘dream’ to play in the division ‘one day’ and he will likely have that opportunity in the summer.

"I think 60% of everyone are arguing, or the rumour is going around about me linked the Premier League,” Osimhen said. “But...when you are one of the hottest striker in the globe, you play this type of thing.

“Of course, EPL is one of the biggest leagues in the whole world. Now I'm with Napoli, I signed a new contract, I'm enjoying my time there, going through it with the team."
