Manager Erik ten Hag is aware that current options Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are not of the quality required to be first choice.

Wan-Bissaka could be sold, while Dalot’s future is also in doubt as both players see their contracts expire in 2024.

PSG are prepared to sell Hakimi if they receive an offer in the region of €68m.

Hakimi most expensive right back in history

Hakimi’s transfer from Inter Milan to Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 makes him the most expensive right-back in football history.

The Moroccan international arrived in the French capital for a fee of €68 million after impressing PSG during his time at San Siro under the management of Antonio Conte.

Hakimi only spent one season at Inter before leaving for Ligue 1, having joined the Nerazzurri from Real Madrid for €43m in 2020.

Man Utd would thus equal the world record fee for a right back if they were to bring him to Old Trafford.

Hakimi is an attack-minded right back, who boasts blistering pace and is a goal threat.

He also played a key role during the 2022 World Cup as Morocco shocked the world by making it all the way to the semi-finals, where they were defeated by France.

Chelsea are also very interested in Hakimi but may not be prepared to pay as much as United as they already have Reece James and Malo Gusto on their books.
