Chelsea may think twice about making an approach for Jude Bellingham in the summer after Thiago Silva blasted the Dortmund midfielder during the Blues’ Champions League win over the German side.

Silva, who was watching from the stands after suffering a knee injury last month, reacted passionately to Bellingham’s strong challenge on Reece James right before the final whistle, which led to the Dortmund star being booked.

As filmed by his wife Belle, Silva lamented in Portuguese for Bellingham to be sent off for the challenge, saying: “Son of a b****! Not my full-back for the love of God! Red card!”

While Silva proved an animated figure throughout the game, Chelsea won 2-0 on the night to progress through to the Champions League quarter finals at the expense of their opponents.

Silva is expected to be absent from the Chelsea team for up to six weeks but the Brazilian integrated with fans in the stands near his box at Stamford Bridge and showcased his passion for the club along with his wife, who has been a vocal supporter during her husband’s time in England.

Bellingham fee questioned by Chelsea fans after poor display

Bellingham, meanwhile, missed a sitter in the first half for Dortmund and the teenager was mocked by Chelsea fans following the game after an underwhelming display in midfield.

The England international failed to make a significant impact in either leg, leading to some fans questioning the value of a €150 million move in the summer.

Chelsea are not believed to be frontrunners for Bellingham regardless, with the 19-year-old understood to prefer a move to Liverpool over the Blues and Real Madrid, although Manchester City are also interested.

For Chelsea, the focus remains on their current season before assessing any transfer plans, with Graham Potter’s side winning two games in a row for the first time since October as they look to draw a line under their dismal form in recent months.
