Yves Bissouma’s stocks have steadily risen since his move to Brighton and Hove Albion from Lille four years ago.

After a difficult first campaign, the Malian has developed into a key player for the Seagulls, breaking out in the 2020/21 season with 36 appearances in the Premier League.

And, he has shown his quality again for Brighton this season, highlighted by an excellent display in Saturday's 1-0 win over Antonio Conte's Tottenham.

REVEALED: The world's most valuable players

While not being the tallest player at 178cm tall, Bissouma is a strong, powerful runner through midfield with a superb engine allowing to cover large areas of the pitch over a 90-minute display.

He is also a top ball-winner and excellent reader of the game defensively while on the ball, he has an eye for a creative pass and is a technically gifted dribbler.

With these attributes it comes a no surprise that the former Lille man has emerged as one of the Premier League’s more exciting midfielders, and still has room to improve at just 25 years of age.

''He’s got incredible potential, he’s got incredible talent, he’s got the attributes to play midfield in any game in the world,'' Seagulls boss Graham Potter has previously said.

A number of Premier League clubs have been linked with his signature, and he could soon get a big move away from the Amex Stadium as his career continues to develop.

Yves Bissouma's transfer value

Indeed, according reports, Brighton placed an asking price of around €50m on the attacker.

However, FootballTransfers believes that such a value is excessive for the player, who is yet to experience European competition. Bissouma also has just one year left on his deal beyond the current campaign.

As such, our calculations suggest that a fair price for Bissouma ranges between €9m – €16m.

This figure is reached by using a formula that takes into account hundreds of in-game data points, as well as external factors such as contract length and age.

It is, of course, logical that Brighton will try to sell him for as much as they possibly can in the summer and a bidding war could elevate the price considerably.
