Will Messi and Sergio Ramos return to Barcelona and Madrid?

Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos have no chance of returning to Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively next season, according to Marca.

There have been many reports in the Spanish media over the past week or so that both Messi and Ramos are looking to quit PSG after just a year in the French capital following a miserable personal season for both players.

But Marca writes that PSG have made it crystal clear that neither Messi nor Ramos will be allowed to depart this summer.

The Parisians count on both players for the 2022-23 campaign and believe that they will be key to helping them win that much-coveted Champions League title.

Messi completed a shock Bosman Transfer to PSG last summer after he was unable for legal and financial reasons to sign a new contract with Barcelona.

The Argentine hero broke every record possible during over two decades at Camp Nou, including scoring a brilliant 672 goals in 778 games.

However, Messi has been heavily criticised by fans and the media following a difficult first season at the Parc des Princes.

It took him until November 20 to score his first Ligue 1 goal and now, in the middle of March, Messi has still scored just two Ligue 1 goals this season.

And to make matters worse, Messi was one of the worst performers as PSG were dumped out of the Champions League last week – capitulating from 2-0 up on aggregate to lose 3-2 to Real Madrid.

Messi – along with teammate Neymar – was booed by PSG fans in the following game against Bordeaux on Sunday.

As for Ramos, he has been repeatedly injured since joining PSG from Real Madrid on a Bosman Transfer last summer.

He has made just five appearances in all competitions this season for PSG, only three of these starts.

In total, Ramos has been on the football pitch for 283 minutes.

Last season he also only played 21 times in all competitions and there are doubts whether his body is able to recover to play at the highest level any longer.

On Sunday evening, Messi and Ramos’ former clubs take on each other in the Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu.
