Kaide Gordon made his Liverpool debut in a 3-0 win over Norwich City on Tuesday in the EFL Cup third round.

The youngster lined up on the right of the Reds' front three and played all 90 minutes, enjoying a fairly quiet game but showing some really promising signs.

He could prove to be an exciting rotation option for the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota who will be heavily relied upon throughout the Premier League season, perhaps instead of Harvey Elliot who suffered a long-term ankle injury.

Gordon's potential can be summed by a quote from one of former club Derby County's youth coaches, who told the Athletic:

“We knew from what we had seen over the years Liverpool were getting an absolute bargain for what they paid.

''We knew that if he continued in how he progressed here he was going to be an unbelievable asset for Liverpool.”

His best attributes, so far, are his exceptional pace and speed at which he can dribble with ball.

Meanwhile, he definitely has an eye for goal, but that is typically an area for young players to work on and who better to learn from than star man Mohamed Salah.

And it certainly seems as though he is already impressing at the Merseyside club, with assistant manager Pep Lijnders speaking glowingly of the youngster's talents.

''I saw one player [in the Under 23's] and he had fire in each moment he touched the ball,'' he said. ''He passed players like they were not standing there.

''I called Jurgen immediately and was like, 'Wow! We have a new player here!' He is a typical Liverpool winger because he has goals, he has speed. We really like him.''

What clubs are interested in Kaide Gordon?

Gordon signed for Liverpool in last season's January transfer window in a reported £1million deal with Derby County, rising to £3m with add-ons. A whole host of clubs will be keen to sign him but he is expected to remain at Liverpool for the foreseeable future.
