Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho has left the door open to Manchester United and Liverpool by admitting: “I don’t know about my future.”

The 21-year-old has bolstered his reputation with another strong season in Germany that has seen him register 14 goals in 35 appearances in all competitions.

Last summer, Sancho was the subject of a lengthy but unsuccessful pursuit by United, who ultimately refused to meet an asking price in the region of £120m.

However, it has recently been suggested that the financial impact of Covid-19 could force Dortmund to consider accepting a fee of around £80m this time around – news that is sure to be of interest to the Red Devils.

Liverpool, too, are said to be monitoring the situation as they prepare for the possible departure of Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian will have just two years remaining on his contract when the current season comes to a close and negotiations over an extension have yet to begin.

Should a sizeable offer arrive, it has been said that the Reds might consider cashing in and target Sancho as a direct replacement.

And the fact that the player himself can offer no guarantees over his future will only serve to fuel speculation.

“Will I leave the club? I don’t know about my future,” he told ESPN.

“I am very happy here in Dortmund at the moment. I love the club, the fans and the team. They gave me my first professional start.”
