If Man Utd hope to cash in on Paul Pogba while they can, they will have to sell him now or risk losing him for free, according to the Frenchman’s brother Mathias.

Earlier in the season, Pogba risked the ire of the Man Utd fans when he admitted it had always been a “dream” of his to play for Real Madrid.

Then, his agent Mino Raiola strangely came out and said his client’s time was up at Man Utd despite it being mid-season.

Since then, Pogba has enjoyed one of his best periods of form with the club, helping them generate a genuine title challenge as they are currently second in the league behind Man City.

There is still continued speculation that he could leave in the summer, though, with former club Juventus and PSG mentioned alongside Real Madrid as potential destinations.

Pogba’s current contract with Man Utd runs out in the summer of 2020, and his brother Mathias has warned that the time is now to sell the World Cup winner if money is their priority.

“He is happy. He is improving his game,” Mathias Pogba told El Chiringuito.

“He has a year left on his contract. I don’t know [if he will stay until then]. I can’t help you right now.

“The only thing I can say is if United want money, they have to sell him now. That’s the only thing I can say. If not, he’ll go for free.

“I haven’t heard anything about him renewing his contract.”

The 27-year-old was rested from the starting XI this week when Man Utd demolished Southampton 9-0 at Old Trafford, but he is expected to be recalled for the weekend’s match versus Everton on Saturday.

Pogba has four goals and two assists in all competitions this season, with 14 of his 18 starts coming in the Premier League.
