Eduardo Camavinga has dismissed speculation over his future, insisting he is happy to sign an extension to his contract with Rennes.

The 18-year-old has been linked with a number of high-profile clubs such as Real Madrid and Liverpool since breaking into the first team at Roazhon Park.

And, with his current deal set to expire in 2022, it has been suggested that a move this summer is likely.

However, Camavinga has now poured cold water on such rumours, declaring: “Could I sign an extension? Yes. Do I want to? Yes. What is holding it up? I do not know, there are negotiations.

“If you want to talk about that, there is my father… It is you, the journalists, who have been talking about me leaving, but I am 100% focused on the club.”

Despite his tender years, Camavinga has already racked up 66 senior appearances for Rennes, grabbing two goals and four assists along the way.

With 4.7 tackles and interceptions per 90, Camavinga is a defensive machine and it is perhaps no surprise that Europe’s elite are chasing him.

Rennes currently sit fifth in Ligue 1, and will be hoping that Camavinga can guide them back into the Champions League just as he did last year.
