Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has been offered the number 10 shirt at Newcastle in an attempt to entice him into joining the Tyneside club.

The Brazilian superstar's future at PSG has been placed into doubt with reports that incoming head coach Christophe Galtier may look to use a 3-5-2 formation at the Parc des Princes, and that the club are open to selling him this summer.

GOAL have reported that PSG are willing to listen to offers for the 30-year-old if an acceptable bid is submitted. Chelsea have previously been linked with Neymar, with the allure of playing under Thomas Tuchel again.

Newcastle are another club who have reportedly registered interest in the former Barcelona star, and one of their stars has issued a plea to Neymar in an attempt to convince him to join the St James' Park side.

Joelinton, who is Newcastle's current club record signing, won the club's 'Player of the Season' award last season following a resurgence in midfield under Eddie Howe and has claimed he'll reach out to Neymar in order to convince him to join.

The former Hoffenheim man has even offered Neymar the number 10 shirt at Newcastle, which is currently worn by Allan Saint-Maximin.

What has Joelinton said?

On the Cast FC podcast, Joelinton said: "We can get him a spot, sure! In any team in the world.

"I can't explain it, the man is an idol, is huge in world soccer. So, the invitation is done. Ney, if you are listening to this, you can come. I'll run for you all the time.

"If we have the chance I hope the coach will call him. The number 10 shirt is there waiting for him. I'll send a message to Bruno [Guimaraes]. Bruno has his contact, he can send a message inviting Ney to play there."

Thanks to Newcastle's takeover by a consortium made up of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, Staveley's PCP Capital Partners and the Reuben brothers' RB Sports and Media, they would be able to afford Neymar this summer.

Newcastle have already added Sven Botman, Nick Pope and Matt Targett this window, which comes after signing Bruno Guimaraes, Dan Burn, Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood in January.
