Germany are set to beat England in the World Cup final, according to data analytics experts SciSports, who simulated the competition thousands of times to gain accurate insights into the performance of each team.

The data suggests that it will be a tournament dominated by European teams, with four UEFA nations expected to reach the semi-finals of the competition, while only Brazil and Argentina from outside Europe will even reach the quarter-finals.

Nevertheless, it is Germany who are expected to come out on top, despite England boasting the highest expected transfer value (ETV) in the competition and the highest SciSkill score, a value given to players based on their abilities and driven by hundreds of in-game data points.

Both of the predicted finalists are expected to progress through their groups without any issues. Indeed, they are given a 93.5% and 90% chance of qualification respectively. These are the highest figures in the competition, with only Brazil otherwise posting more than a 92% chance of qualification.
