Arsenal have made their best start to a Premier League season in nearly 20 years - now they need to seize this opportunity and build on their momentum through more new signings.

The Gunners have identified Pedro Neto as their priority target for the rest of the window but they could be priced out of a move with Wolves not willing to consider offers of less than £50 million.

While Arsenal are rightly concerned about financial fair play restrictions, having spent more than £100m already this summer, they cannot afford to waste the rare aura of positivity around the club.

Few Gunners fans would be disappointed with their squad's dealings if the window were to close tomorrow but the club could do more to back Mikel Arteta and set his team up for success.

With Arsenal top of the Premier League and operating with a new-found sense of confidence and swagger, another marquee signing could be the difference between having a great season and an unforgettable one.

Trusting the process is starting to pay off

Arsenal's 100% record in the new Premier League campaign is their best start to a season since 2004, when they were in the midst of their 49-match invincible run.

The club have assembled the youngest squad in the league under the division's youngest manager and the multi-year 'process' of replacing old and expensive players with youthful, hungry talents appears to be taking shape.

Most people associated with Arsenal would gladly take Champions League qualification this season after a six-year absence but the team have shown the potential to dream even bigger.

The club have generated momentum throughout the summer with a host of impressive signings such as Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Fabio Vieira but they are still lacking the depth to take the team further.

Sporting director Edu Gaspar has insisted they will only conduct deals that are financially responsible for players who will improve the first team squad.

While the approach is understandable, a move for Neto or Bayer Leverkusen's Moussa Diaby would put the Gunners in the best position to push for the top four, a trophy and perhaps even a title charge.

Such positive belief and energy doesn't come around much, particularly at Arsenal, and bringing in another top quality player could provide an incredible impact and springboard towards a legendary season.
