Just like the players available on a Bosman in 2021, the list of best free agents for the summer of 2022 is stacked with talent – with names such as Kylian Mbappe, Paul Pogba and Cristiano Ronaldo among the stars with expiring contracts.
Perhaps never before has there been so many big names who risk leaving on a free transfer, so super-clubs such as PSG, Manchester United, Juventus and Barcelona need to get negotiating to avoid their superstars leaving for nothing.
Legends such as Andrea Pirlo and Robert Lewandowski have been allowed to move for free over the past 10 years, and a similar situation will want to be avoided by Europe’s biggest clubs.

So who are the best free agents currently available on a Bosman in 2022?

As you can tell by the list, some of Europe’s most talented players could be leaving for free in the summer of 2022, with the two most expensive players in history, Mbappe and Neymar, potentially departing PSG for absolutely nothing.
In Fati and Pedri, Barcelona could be about to lose their future if they aren’t able to agree new deals. And could Cristiano Ronaldo be on the move again? Perhaps back to Real Madrid or Manchester United?
In Pogba, Goretzka and Camavinga, three of the world’s best central midfielders are up for grabs, and their respective clubs will be fearful of losing them on a Bosman if a contract isn’t agreed soon.
Seasoned veterans such as Suarez, Hummels, Mertens, Benzema and Azpilicueta may find it hard to find a new home at the pinnacle of European football, and a free transfer to the MLS could well be on the cards if they don’t renew their deal at their current club.
There’s plenty of value to be had in the free agent market, and 2022 could well be the year of unprecedented free movement of players.
