Manchester United have confirmed that attacker Marcus Rashford has officially signed his new contract with the Old Trafford club – but the academy graduate is only the club’s fourth highest paid player if reports are accurate.

Rashford had been expected to sign a new deal for some time, but the contract extension was confirmed by Man Utd on 18 July, ahead of their pre-season tour of the United States of America.

The 25-year-old was widely regarded as one of their outstanding players last season as they finished third in the Premier League standings, hitting 30 goals in all competitions for the first time in his career as well as 17 in the top flight.

Rashford, whose previous deal expired in 2024, has been rewarded with a contract that is five years long and, therefore, expires in June 2028.

What is Marcus Rashford’s salary?

Rashford’s new contract is worth £300,000 per week or £15.6 million per year, according to the Daily Mail’s Chris Wheeler. This means that over the duration of his five-year contract, he will earn a total of £78m.

Although this figure places him among Manchester United’s top earners, he is by no means the player who takes home the biggest wage.

Leading the way in this regard is Jadon Sancho, who signed from Borussia Dortmund two years ago and earns a salary of £18.2m per year, according to reports. He has taken over the mantle of biggest earner from David de Gea, who was released this summer at the end of his deal, which was worth a massive £19.5m annually to the Spain goalkeeper.

Rashford, meanwhile, also earns less than World Cup winning centre-back Raphael Varane, who takes home £18.2m per year, and fellow former Real Madrid star Casemiro, who reportedly earned the same figure in his first season at the club.
