The big spenders will be out in force again this summer, with Real Madrid looking to back new boss Xabi Alonso, Chelsea keen to improve again after securing Champions League qualification, and Manchester United desperate to reclaim some kind of success after a disastrous season that saw them finish just three places above the relegation zone in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have signed Matheus Cunha, with Man City also flexing their financial power to sign Tijani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli and Rayan Cherki.

Some big deals happened earlier than usual due to the Club World Cup and the deadline for participation in that tournament is now over, though the window remains open.

The biggest deal so far this summer saw Florian Wirtz complete a blockbuster transfer to Liverpool from Leverkusen.

Some questions that will hang over the transfer window this season:

  • Will Viktor Gyokeres leave Sporting CP?
  • Who will sign Victor Osimhen?
  • How much can Barcelona spend?
  • Will top players want to join Man Utd?
  • Will Arsenal sign a world-class striker?

Liverpool ARE NOT done in this transfer window

Todd Boehly hits back at Chelsea critics

Chelsea have spent over €1.5 billion on transfers since Todd Boehly took the helm at Stamford Bridge - a strategy that has earned the club plenty of critics.

But, Boehly took the opportunity to hit back at those critics after the Blues defeated Paris Saint-Germain to win the Club World Cup.

“We're big believers, we knew all along in the value of the project," he told talkSPORT.

“So I think, obviously, it came together brilliantly, and those are just odds that you can't predict. But we're hopeful that every day we wake up, the odds are that Chelsea are going to win something big. I think the boys have shown that they are a force to be reckoned with, and I think that's what we were hoping for.”

Eintracht Frankfurt reject huge bid for Ekitike

Real Madrid confirm Alvaro Carreras deal

Everton sign Mark Travers from Bournemouth

Bayern make improved bid for Luis Diaz

Bayern Munich have made an improved bid for Luis Diaz.

The German giants want a top signing for their left wing after Leroy Sane left on a free transfer, and Diaz is now their number one target after Nico Williams signed a new contract at Athletic Club.

David Ornstein reports that thet have bid €67.5m million for the Colombian, though that is expected to be rejected by Liverpool, who want €100m.

A gift to Man Utd...?

Jackson attracting considerable interest

Three big clubs are interested in signing Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea.

The striker has fell down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro so could be set for a summer departure.

Sky Sports reports that Man Utd, Aston Villa and Milan want to sign Jackson, however it is highly unlikely that any club will meet Chelsea's reported €100 million valuation.

Benfica in talks over Joao Felix

Benfica want Joao Felix back and are locked in talks with Chelsea over the Portuguese attacker.

Felix has failed to live up to expectations since his huge money transfer to Atletico Madrid, while subsequent moves to Barcelona, Chelsea and Milan have been disastrous.

The player himself wants to return to Portugal as he previously told reporters: "The whole world knows that Benfica is my favourite team. It's my home. One day I will return. I don't know if it's now or in a few years, but if it were now I would be very happy. There are two options: either I stay in England or I return to Benfica."

However, Benfica aren't willing to meet Chelsea's €40 million asking price. (A Bola)

Should United take a risk on him?

Brentford sign Jordan Henderson

Arsenal don't want to trigger Eze's release clause

Arsenal want to sign Eberechi Eze, but aren't looking to trigger his £68 million (€78m) release clause.

This summer, the Gunners have already signed Christian Norgaard, Martin Zubimendi and Kepa Arrizabalaga, while they are reportedly on the cusp of adding Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera to their squad.

Eze is a target, too, but Arsenal want to pay for the Crystal Palace midfielder over time rather than an up-front payment. (talkSPORT)

Chelsea star set to stay despite exit rumours

Benoit Badiashile has confirmed that he will remain at Chelsea next season.

The Frenchman was a fringe player at Stamford Bridge in 2024/25 and has been linked with a move away this summer, with former club Monaco said to be interested. But, he has confirmed his immediate future is with the Blues.

“Yes, I’ll still be at Chelsea next season,” he told Foot Mercato following his side’s victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the 2025 Club World Cup final.

“The club, the coach, and all the staff give me a lot of confidence and believe in me. I will do everything to give back to them on the pitch. I love the club, the city, and the supporters.”
