Now that the domestic season is over for all major European leagues, clubs can now focus on their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign, with a natural focus on recruitment.

The big spenders will be out in force again, with Real Madrid looking to back new boss Xabi Alonso, Chelsea keen to improve again after securing Champions League qualification, and Manchester United desperate to reclaim some kind of success after a disastrous season that saw them finish just three places above the relegation zone in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have announced the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, though they missed out on Liam Delap, who has joined Chelsea.

With the Club World Cup on the horizon, we will likely see big deals completed earlier than usual from Europe's elite.

That competition begins on Saturday, 14th June.

Some questions that will hang over the transfer window this season:

  • How can Man City replace Kevin De Bruyne?
  • Will Rodrygo leave Real Madrid?
  • How much can Barcelona spend?
  • Will top players want to join Man Utd?
  • Will Arsenal sign a world-class striker?

Arsenal interested in Kepa

Arsenal want to sign another goalkeeper this summer to compete with David Raya.

Luca Bendoni of Sky Sports reports that the Gunners are interested in Kepa Arrizabalaga, with Chelsea unlikely to ask for a significant transfer fee for their Spanish stopper.

Three sides in for Grealish

Jack Grealish has a few options available should he leave Man City this summer.

Pep Guardiola made the choice to leave the £100 million midfielder out of his squad for the Club World Cup, which means Grealish's days at the Etihad are numbered.

The Mirror reports that Milan, Napoli and former club Aston Villa have all expressed interest in a summer deal.

Palhinha open to Bayern exit

Joao Palhinha was far from a regular starter at Bayern Munich last season following his big-money move from Fulham.

And, he says he'll need assurances about his role in the squad if he is to stay at the Allianz Arena.

"My contract here still has three years left," the Portugal international told Sky Germany.

"I want to play for this club. But I have to discuss with the coach and the sporting directors personally whether I'll get my chance here. I really hope so! But if not, we'll have to wait and see and find the best solution."

Madrid close to signing Argentine wonderkid

Real Madrid will soon announce a deal for River Plate wonderkid Franco Mastantuono, according to Fabrizio Romano.

He wrote on X: "Real Madrid are closing in on Franco Mastantuono deal, here we go soon! Battle over as Real Madrid have total agreement on personal terms with Mastantuono.

“Final negotiations with River on a different structure instead of $45m (€40m) clause… then, all done.”

PSG were keen admirers of the youngster, but the player has apparently chosen Los Blancos.
