David Ornstein: Arsenal could lose Gyokeres to Man Utd

Arsenal need to hurry up if they want to sign Viktor Gyokeres as they are running out of time to complete a deal.
Gyokeres is Arsenal's top target for the number nine position this summer and there have been growing reports in recent days that they are closing in on a deal.
However, David Ornstein reports that while Arsenal are hot for the Sporting Lisbon striker, they need to get a move on.
If they don't move fast, Ornstein says, Man Utd could overtake them and beat them to the punch.
What did Ornstein say?
"Viktor Gyokeres remains in the mix for Arsenal. He is a player that Arsenal’s sporting director Andrea Berta really likes," Ornstein said.
"He is probably the best value for money option out there but the time is ticking and other interest is building. We know that Ruben Amorim at Manchester United likes him so let’s see if Arsenal move on that sooner, rather than later."
Gyokeres is one of the hottest properties on the summer transfer market, with a host of big English and European clubs chasing his signature, including Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea.
Gyokeres has a €100 million release clause in his Sporting Lisbon contract so will not come cheap.
United are also in the market for a top striker this summer after another dismal season in front of goal, with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee both failing to hit the grade.
They have been linked with many other strikers, including Victor Osimhen, Liam Delap and Benjamin Sesko.

But Ruben Amorim's favourite is Gyokeres after the pair worked brilliantly together over 18 months at Sporting.
Gyokeres on fire
Gyokeres is the hottest striking property around right now and is having an incredible season, scoring 52 goals in 50 games in all competitions.
This follows on from his brilliant form from last season for Sporting where he scored 43 goals in all competitions for his club.
Gyokeres is expected to be sold by Sporting at the end of the 2024-25 season in order for the Sweden international to make the next step in his career.
The attacker has 15 goals in 26 games for the Sweden national team.
