Man Utd make €50m ‘Plan B’ amid Delap and Gyokeres ‘concern’

Manchester United may not be ready to throw in the towel in their hopes of signing Viktor Gyokeres, but the Old Trafford side are making a contingency plan if they fail to land the Sporting CP forward.
Gyokeres is one of the most wanted strikers in the world after a remarkable season in Lisbon, where he has scored 38 goals in only 32 league appearances, taking a grasp of the race for the Golden Shoe in the process.
While Man Utd would love to reunite the 26-year-old Sweden international with Ruben Amorim, the Old Trafford club believes they will be beaten to the former Coventry City striker by Arsenal.
Sky Sport Switzerland reports that the Red Devils are “concerned” about the Gunners’ control of the forward’s situation.
As a result, Man Utd are assessing other options. One surprising possibility to arise is Moise Kean, who had a previous stint in the Premier League with Everton, where he struggled badly after a €27.5 million move from Juventus.
Kean offers a comparatively cheap option. He has a release clause in his Fiorentina contract worth €50m, which can be triggered in the first fortnight of July.
With a short period to get a deal done for the 25-year-old, there is pressure to agree personal terms with the player, but Kean has already expressed his desire to play in the Premier League, where there is plenty of interest in a deal.
The Italy international is adamant, however, that he will only sign for United if they qualify for the Champions League.

Delap before Kean?
But it’s not just Gyokeres that Kean would appear to be a ‘Plan B’ for. Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap has been closely linked with Man Utd and is another leading target for the Old Trafford side.
Multiple reports indicate that Delap now favours a move back to Manchester, where he came through the youth ranks for City.
Like Kean, he only wants to move to Old Trafford if there’s Champions League football on offer, while he will not be short on offers otherwise. Chelsea are notably eager to sign the England U21 international.
