What has happened to Ademola Lookman in 2025?

Ahead of the summer transfer window, Ademola Lookman is one of the hottest properties available on the market.
The Atalanta superstar will certainly leave the club at the end of the season if the Italian club receives a suitable offer believed to be around €60 million.

Lookman has been heavily linked with virtually every top team in Europe over the past months.
A return to the Premier League is believed to be the likeliest destination for the 27-year-old, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool and Newcastle all interested. Barcelona and PSG are also big fans.

Lookman drop in form
But will this interest have waned a touch following an alarming drop in production from Lookman in 2025?
Incredibly, just a couple of days shy of May, Lookman has not managed a single assist this calendar year.
In 16 games for Atalanta he has not created a single goal for his teammates.
His scoring numbers have also fallen. In those 16 games he has hit 11 blanks.

Indeed, the last five matches for Atalanta, Lookman has not managed a single goal contribution.
The drop-off has coincided with an incosnistent 2025 for Atalanta where their Scudetto push fell off the rails despite both Inter and Napoli struggling too.
Is Lookman's disappointing form down to the fact he knows he is leaving this summer? Is it also due to an injury that made his miss matched in January and February? Is it related to a public falling out with manager Gian Piero Gasperini when Atalanta were eliminated from the Champions League by Club Brugge?
Perhaps it is a combination of everything but what is clear is that Lookman's levels have fallen off from his brilliance of 2024.
Lookman was crowned African Footballer of the Year and finished 14th in the 2024 Ballon d'Or race after a stunning year.
He scored a legendary hattrick for Atalanta in the 3-0 Europa League final victory over Bayer Leverkusen last May. He hit 27 goal contributions for the season before taking that brilliant form into the 2024/2025 season.
In the first half of the season he was arguably the best player in Serie A, as Atalanta looked a good bet for the Scudetto.
But Lookman has not been close to that player in 2025. Will this affect the movement for him in the summer transfer window?
