Seys battle

Man Utd and Arsenal are two of a number of clubs taking a keen interest in Club Brugge left-back Joaquin Seys.

After enjoying a breakthrough year at Club Brugge last season, Seys earned a place in Belgium's squad for the World Cup and featured in the quarter-final defeat against Spain.

The Sun reports that the minimum asking price for the defender is €35 million. However, with Aston Villa, Newcastle, Porto and Benfica all interested in addition to Man Utd and Arsenal, Club Brugge are in a strong position and could campaign for a bigger fee, especially considering he has three years remaining on his current contract.

The Red Devils view Seys as a long-term replacement for Luke Shaw and an alternative to their number one target, Lewis Hall.

Speaking of Hall, he was sent home from Newcastle's warm weather training camp in La Manga as speculation continues over his future.

He has emerged as United's priority target for the left-back spot but an initial enquiry has been outright rejected by Newcastle, who insist they will not sell any more star players this summer after allowing Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimarães and Anthony Gordon to leave for Tottenham, Arsenal and Barcelona, respectively.

Young wanted Welbeck back at United

Former Man Utd star Ashley Young says he is "gutted" that Danny Welbeck has gone to Chelsea instead of returning to Old Trafford.

A product of the youth academy at the club, Welbeck was sold to Arsenal in 2014 and went on to play for Watford before a career renaissance at Brighton. This summer, he completed a surprise transfer to Chelsea.

"He’s delighted to be signing for Chelsea, especially at this stage of his career," Young told TalkSPORT.

"He’s proved himself time and time again. Could he have been on the plane going to the World Cup? For me, I’m probably being biased in saying he should have, but he wasn’t. He’s been fantastic and I’m gutted he hasn’t gone back to United, to be honest."

Agent Giggs tried to get Anderson

Phil Bardsley says Ryan Giggs attempted to convince Elliot Anderson to join Man Utd instead of Manchester City when the trio found themselves on the same golf course in Portugal.

"I knew it was getting to a stage with Elliot Anderson where he’d be £100m plus and I just didn’t feel comfortable about going to that sort of price for him as a player," the former Red Devil told Casinolyze.

"He was still unsure what he wanted to do but north of £100m for a defensive midfielder like him? If I’m spending that money, I want a player who will add 30-40 goals to my team a season"

Anderson would eventually join City from Nottingham Forest for a British record fee of €135m.

Expensive Camara

United have already signed Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos to bolster their midfield but Michael Carrick wants at least one more central player and the clubs have been linked with plenty this summer.

Adam Wharton and Carlos Baleba's names have been mentioned constantly over the last few months, but Lamine Camara has now entered the discussion.

The Monaco midfielder is a wanted man, with both Crystal Palace and Liverpool credited with an interest by Foot Mercato.

However, he could cost between €50m and €60m.

United in for Leicester youngster

The club have opened discussions with Leicester City over a potential move for highly-rated teenager Louis Page, according to BBC Sport.

The 18-year-old has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, with Arsenal and Aston Villa also keen on securing his services. United are now looking to move ahead of their rivals, although talks with Leicester are still ongoing and no agreement has been reached.

Page enjoyed a breakthrough season last term, being named EFL Apprentice of the Year. He has already made 21 appearances for Leicester's first team and featured again on Saturday, coming off the bench during their 1-0 Carabao Cup first-round victory over Northampton Town.
