Man Utd considered stunning move for Real Madrid star - only to be told 'no'
Manchester United considered making a move for Real Madrid star Endrick earlier this summer, according to reports in France.
French publication RMC Sport claims United were interested in signing Endrick provided the striker was made available by Real.
However, Spanish outlet Diario AS reported on Monday that Los Blancos manager Jose Mourinho wants to keep hold of the 20-year-old.
There had been speculation over Endrick’s short-term future at Real following the summer arrivals of Carlos Espi and Yan Diomande.
Various sources also understand Vinicius Junior is set to sign a new contract with the Spanish heavyweights, despite interest from Arsenal.
Endrick spent the second half of last season on loan with Lyon, registering eight goals and as many assists in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit.
After emerging through Palmeiras’ youth system in October 2022, the forward scored 21 goals in 82 games for the Brazilian side.
Real announced two months later that they had agreed a deal to sign Endrick, with the move becoming effective after he turned 18 in July 2024.
He has recorded seven goals and one assist in 40 games for the Bernabeu club, lifting the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Intercontinental Cup in 2024.
Man Utd looking to strengthen forward options this summer
Man Utd meanwhile are believed to be scouring the market for an alternative striker to Benjamin Sesko, who netted 12 times last season.
The Red Devils also have Joshua Zirkzee on the books but the Netherlands international is being courted by Serie A giants Juventus.
Marcus Rashford is another potential option for United, with Fabrizio Romano claiming the England star is poised to stay at Old Trafford.
Speculation has been rife regarding Rashford’s future at United, having spent the last season-and-a-half on loan at Aston Villa and Barcelona respectively.
The 28-year-old spent the remainder of the 2024-25 season on loan at Villa before joining Barcelona for the entire 2025-26 campaign.
Rashford had publicly expressed his desire to stay at Barcelona after helping the club retain their La Liga title last term.
However, Hansi Flick’s side decided against triggering a €30million (£26m) option to sign Rashford on a permanent basis.

Rashford has now joined up with the United squad as they continue their pre-season preparations ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
Carrick’s men will take on Leeds United at Dublin’s Croke Park on Wednesday before locking horns with AC Milan in Poland on Saturday.
