Manchester City are close to securing a deal for Savinho’s replacement, with a reputable source claiming that the “agreement is close”.

With Savinho nearing a move to Tottenham in a deal that could touch €99 million, continuing a remarkable spell of outgoings at the Etihad Stadium, Enzo Maresca’s side are searching for a player to fill that void.

Palmeiras star Allan is the player set to move to the Manchester giants, with City making positive strides to snap up the highly rated young winger.

Man City reach agreement with Allan

Transfer expert Santi Aouna reports on X: “Manchester City and Palmeiras are nearing an agreement for Allan Elias.

“Agreement already reached between Manchester City and the Brazilian winger on personal terms.”

Sources in Brazil also indicate that progress towards a deal is being made.

“Despite not intending to sell their key players, Palmeiras has opened negotiations with Manchester City for striker Allan. Talks are ongoing, with figures ranging from €35-40m, still seeking a financial agreement that satisfies both parties,” Globo states.

“The deal isn't finalised, but the club is now open to negotiating the player's transfer.”

Palmeiras have already made their position on Allan clear, having previously turned down an offer from Aston Villa worth €30m - €5m of which was conditional on bonuses.

While they do not want to sell, sources in Brazil state that “an exceptional financial offer” could prompt them to reassess that stance.

They are not a club that will give in easily. Last January, they rejected a €35m bid from City for Vitor Reis, so the Manchester club go into these negotiations with their eyes open to the difficulties of striking a deal.

What type of player is Allan and how good is he?

Allan is a right-winger who has four goals and two assists in Brazil’s Serie A this season, reflecting the rather modest numbers that Savinho posted at City.

The 22-year-old, meanwhile, is a player whose stock is increasingly high.

His rapid improvement has been outlined by SciSports, which shows there has been an explosive development in his performance over the course of the last 18 months. This is based on in-game data points, which highlights the strides that he has made.

City, meanwhile, are seeking a deal not because of what he can offer immediately, but the type of player he might develop into. His statistics are well down on Savinho’s when it comes to much of his wing play, but as a player who loves to take on opponents and deliver key passes, he has clear assets that the Premier League giants will love.
