Juventus knock Arsenal’s Yildiz interest back

Arsenal’s pursuit of a world-class attacker to help bolster the depth of Mikel Arteta’s forward line has seen them turn towards Kenan Yildiz in recent days.

The creative Turkey international has had a €100m price tag placed on his head by Juventus, who face an assault from the Gunners following the decision of Vinicius Junior to turn the club down and instead sign a new deal with Real Madrid.

According to Tutto Juve, the Serie A club have dismissed any interest from the Gunners out of hand. It is reported they have “said no” to Arsenal, with the firm message that Yildiz is “untouchable”.

Gunners hijack Liverpool Barcola deal

Perhaps as a response to Juventus’ stern rejection of Arsenal’s interest in Yildiz, the Gunners have been linked with a shock hijack of Liverpool’s negotiations for PSG winger Bradley Barcola, GiveMeSport reports.

With Liverpool and PSG distant in their valuations for Barcola, there is an opening for Arsenal to take advantage of, though it would likely mean spending a club-record €130 million to sign the 24-year-old former Lyon star.

Barcola is widely reported to have already agreed personal terms with the Anfield club, and after falling down the pecking order in Paris is open to a new challenge this summer.

Arteta confirms signing plans

Although Arsenal missed out on Vinicius Junior, Mikel Arteta has confirmed the club is still very much in the market for more options.

When asked if Arsenal fans can expect any additional signings before Transfer Deadline Day, Arteta admitted: “Well that's what we're trying to do. If we have the right player in the market to make us much better, we are very much looking forward to that.”

Arteta reveals why Arsenal signed Bruno Guimaraes

Arteta has praised new signing Bruno Guimaraes and revealed the rationale behind the club's decision to sign him from Newcastle.

“We see very clearly, especially the energy that he brought immediately to the training ground, the hunger, the desire to come here and create a big history at the club,” he said after the 3-2 loss against Borussia Dortmund.

“That's the ambition that we need. We want to go to the next level and I'm very, very much convinced that we're going to need players with such a personality, desire and character to push everybody inside the organisation to go even higher.

“The versatility to play in two different positions in relation to what we want or the opponent does. A player who obviously has tremendous timing and intuition to win the ball back and progress play very, very fast.

“He's a player that is very comfortable putting people through, moving between the lines, moving in behind. And then he's a goal threat. He's got a smell and a really good timing to get in the box. And he has the capacity to finish the actions.”

Gabriel Jesus’s valuation revealed as Napoli circle

One player who is heavily rumoured to be heading on his way from the Emirates before the start of the season is Gabriel Jesus.

The Brazil international has emerged as a target for Napoli, who could replace Romelu Lukaku with the former Manchester City man.

CaughtOffside reports that Arsenal are open to a deal for the 29-year-old, but will only start serious talks with an offer of €20m.

Jesus, for his part, is open to a move as he seeks more regular first-team football.

Man Utd lead left-back chase

Arsenal face being beaten to Club Brugge left-back Joaquin Seys by Manchester United, who The Sun reports are in pole position to sign the Belgium youngster.

Man Utd lead the way for the 21-year-old, who has also attracted attention from Aston Villa as well as the Gunners. Newcastle have been tracking him but are not as advanced as their Premier League rivals, while Benfica and Porto believe they can offer him a better platform to develop.

Seys will not be a cheap option. Brugge have slapped a €35m price tag on the head of the full-back, who is said to be solid defensively but can add creativity to the Gunners’ flank.
