Arsenal have officially completed the signing of Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes.
After more than a month of talks, the Gunners have finally landed their man. Newcastle superstar Guimaraes has been officially unveiled as Mikel Arteta's third new signing of the summer, following Illan Meslier and Christos Tzolis.
The Premier League champions began chasing the 28-year-old in June and remained persistent despite Newcastle's public not-for-sale stance. The fact that they managed to secure buy-in from the midfielder changed everything.

Although Guimaraes did not want to ruin his relationship with Newcastle after genuinely falling in love with the club, he did make it clear that he wanted to pursue the opportunity to join a team that regularly challenges for major silverware.
Newcastle's stance softened when Arsenal indicated a willingness to pay more than they initially planned, and an agreement was ultimately reached for the Brazil international to join the Gunners in an €87.5 million deal.

Guimaraes has now completed all formalities of his transfer and has been officially unveiled as a new Arsenal player on a contract until 2030 with the option for an additional season.
"We are delighted to welcome Bruno Guimaraes to our club," Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta said. "Bruno is a player with a great mentality and great quality, who will bring strong leadership to our squad.
"With Bruno joining us, we are further strengthening the heart of our team. As we have all seen, Bruno can play as a defensive midfielder and as a box-to-box player. He combines quality with quantity, and has provided goals and assists for his team every year.
"Bruno will allow Mikel to further develop our playing style and will also increase our internal competitiveness, which is essential for maintaining the standards required when we are aiming to win major trophies."

"It's massive what I have done so far, but I want more. I want to win for Arsenal. I want to win more trophies in my career, and I think I'm in the right place, at my peak at 28 years old.

"I want to put my name in the club history. Someday, when I leave, I want players to come here and say I want to do exactly what Bruno did for the club.
