Man Utd remain keen on Tchouameni and Scott

Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni and Alex Scott of Bournemouth remain on Man Utd's midfield wishlist, according to Sky Sports.

Various sources have linked both players to United as they look to back manager Michael Carrick with up to two more midfielders ahead of Ederson's imminent arrival from Atalanta.

While Scott, 22, is viewed as a player with world-class potential, Tchouameni, 26, has long been regarded as one of the best midfielders currently competing in Europe.

However, Sky Sports understands Real have more interest in offloading Eduardo Camavinga instead of Tchouameni, while the same publication claims Bournemouth are hoping Scott will sign a new contract at the Vitality Stadium.

Red Devils not expected to make offers for Wharton or Baleba

United are unlikely to make a bid for either Crystal Palace ace Adam Wharton or Carlos Baleba of Brighton and Hove Albion as things stand, according to the Daily Mail.

Widespread reports understand the Red Devils have made strengthening their midfield a priority ahead of the 2026-27 Premier League season.

However, two of their targets - Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali - have opted to join Tottenham Hotspur in a €216million (£185m) double deal this week.

Yet the Mail understands neither Wharton nor Baleba have featured heavily in recruitment meetings held by United this summer, despite The Athletic claiming both players have been monitored in the past.

United enquire into the cost of Summerville deal

United have opened discussions with West Ham United over a possible move for Crysencio Summerville, according to the Mail.

The Athletic claims United are keen to spread their summer budget across several areas of the pitch, with a new left winger planned.

The same publication reported in June that the 20-time league champions were firm admirers of Summerville, who is reportedly valued at around €58million (£50m).

However, the Mail understands United face competition to sign the Netherlands international, with other European clubs in the race.

Carrick's side learn Nmecha’s staggering valuation

United have learned Borussia Dortmund have slapped an eye-watering €120m (£102m) price tag on Felix Nmecha, according to The Athletic.

Nmecha caught the eye at this summer’s World Cup, scoring in Germany’s 7-1 victory over Curacao while he also won a penalty in the same game.

However, according to The Athletic, Bundesliga giants Dortmund have raised their valuation for Nmecha in light of Elliot Anderson’s €135m (£116m) switch to Manchester City.

Anderson was also admired by United but the England international joined their fierce rivals Man City this week, becoming the most expensive British player of all time in the process.

Onana rejoins Trabzonspor on loan

Out-of-favour United goalkeeper Andre Onana has rejoined Turkish side Trabzonspor on loan for the 2026-27 season.

The 30-year-old slipped down the pecking order at Old Trafford last season, before joining Trabzonspor temporarily for the 2025-26 campaign.

The Mail understands United will earn a maximum loan fee of €1.5m (£1.3m) depending on how Fatih Tekke’s side perform in 2026-27.

The same publication claims Trabzonspor will also cover the majority of Cameroon international Onana’s wages.
