€136m duo in danger as Man Utd initiate contact over next summer signing
Manchester United have opened talks over a potential summer deal for Juventus winger Francisco Conceicao, according to reports in Italy.
The Red Devils have already strengthened Michael Carrick’s first-team squad with the signings of Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Karl Darlow so far this summer, while they are keen to finalise a high-profile move for Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall.
Conceicao has also emerged as a possible target in recent days, despite an underwhelming 2025-26 campaign, and Man Utd have now initiated contact with Juventus over a possible transfer, according to Italian transfer reporter Nicolo Schira.
It’s reported that Conceicao could be sold on a permanent transfer by Juventus this summer, and Man Utd have contacted the Turin giants to ask for more information about a potential deal.
The 23-year-old, whose current contract runs until 2030, scored just four goals in 42 games across all competitions last season, but he featured in four of Portugal’s five matches at this summer’s World Cup and only four Serie A players completed more than his 54 dribbles in 2025-26.
Man Utd had initially been keen to strengthen their options on the left flank, however it appears as though a move for Conceicao could now be on the cards ahead of the new campaign.
Analysis: Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo in danger?
Man Utd’s interest in Conceicao is extremely surprising given the Portugal international has almost exclusively played as a right winger during his senior career - which is a position that is already stacked at Old Trafford.
Carrick has both Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo to call upon on the right flank, and the duo - who have a combined Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €135.7 million - could see their place in the starting XI threatened if Conceicao arrives.
While the 23-year-old was far from clinical at Juventus last season, he is an excellent dribbler and his close control in the final third is undoubtedly a reason behind Man Utd’s bid to sign him.
However, data analytics experts SciSports believe that Conceicao is currently a worse player than both Mbeumo and Amad, while his potential SciSkill rating of 111.4 is dwarfed by Amad’s 120.2 and Mbeumo’s 122.9.
In fact, Mbeumo is regarded as Man Utd’s best player by SciSports, ahead of Bruno Fernandes, and the Cameroon international is therefore unlikely to drop down the pecking order even if Conceicao arrives from Juventus before Deadline Day.
Amad, meanwhile, shone for Ivory Coast at the World Cup and at 24 years old, he is approaching his prime. As a result, a move for Conceicao remains in doubt.
