Man Utd Transfer News Today: Sandro Tonali green light as talks over €120m deal held
All the latest Man Utd transfer news in one place, including updates on Sandro Tonali, Felix Nmecha and Mateus Fernandes.
Tonali says yes to Spurs
Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali has greenlit a transfer to Tottenham, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Spurs have made a surprise push for the Italy international, with the interest driven by head coach Roberto de Zerbi. Tonali is exploring his options and is believed to be keen on the move.
Man Utd have also been strongly linked with the Newcastle star in recent months, but it appears that they have already given up on him due to his cost. Arsenal and Man City are said to have also enquired about him, but there is no mention of the Red Devils.
Nmecha contact
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha is drawing fresh interest, Sky Germany reports.
The 25-year-old was a standout performer for Germany against Curacao at the World Cup, off the back of which Real Madrid, driven by Jose Mourinho, are said to have now made contact for him.
The same outlet recently revealed that Man Utd and Man City have been in contact with Nmecha's camp for months despite his recent contract extension. He was given a €70 million release clause as part of this new deal, but it won't become active until next year.
Dortmund will only consider extraordinary offers for Nmecha this summer. BILD reports that it would take a fee in the region of €120 million to make BVB reconsider their not-for-sale stance.
Fernandes gamble
Man Utd have informed West Ham that they will not match their €92 million valuation for Mateus Fernandes, as per the Daily Mirror.
The Red Devils are believed to be in pole position to secure the signing of the Portugal international, but they have made it clear that they will not be held to ransom over his fee. West Ham, meanwhile, are hoping that they can spark a bidding war.
Man Utd's refusal to pay big money could be a boost for Arsenal and PSG, who are also known admirers of Fernandes. However, it is possible that West Ham lower their demands eventually given that they need to make lucrative sales this summer.
Man Utd eye Summerville
Another West Ham player Man Utd have taken a liking to is Crysencio Summerville, The Athletic writes.
The Netherlands international is under consideration as an option for the left wing. An enquiry has been made, with West Ham informing the Red Devils that they value Summerville at just under €60m.
Whether a move for the winger materialises will depend on the future of Marcus Rashford, who will formally return after the World Cup. The report states that the England star would be prepared to honour his Man Utd contract rather than move to another Premier League club.
Berge an option
The Athletic also reports that Fulham midfielder Sander Berge is a midfield option Man Utd are exploring.
The Old Trafford club are long-standing admirers of the Norway international, who is coming off a solid season at Fulham. Man Utd looked into a deal back when he left Burnley for the Cottagers in 2024.
There has been an enquiry for Bournemouth star Alex Scott as well. However, the Cherries are poised to hand him a bumper new contract with an €86m release clause.
