Fernandes prioritising Man Utd

West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes is prioritising a move to Man Utd, according to Shaun Connolly.

It has been claimed that the Portugal international is a top target for new Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho, but while Fernandes is indeed admired, he is currently not a priority for the Spanish giants.

Instead, his most likely destination at present appears to be Old Trafford. Man Utd are "continuing with their efforts to agree a suitable fee" amid West Ham's reported asking price of over €90 million.

Triple exit announced

Man Utd have officially announced that Jadon Sancho, Casemiro and Tyrell Malacia are leaving the club upon the expiration of their contracts this summer. The trio were signed across two summer windows to the tune of a combined €170m, but they are now leaving the club for nothing.

Both Sancho and Malacia have not played a major role for Man Utd for several years, with the former falling out with ex-manager Erik ten Hag and being sent out on loan, most recently to Aston Villa, while the latter was sidelined for more than a year through injury.

Casemiro, on the other hand, has been an important part of the team, and there was a clamour among fans and some teammates for him to stay beyond this summer. However, the Brazilian has departed and is expected to join Lionel Messi at Inter Miami.

Rashford returns

Barcelona have decided that they will not take up the €30m buy option in Marcus Rashford's loan ahead of next Monday's deadline, as per MARCA.

The England international will be forced to formally return to Man Utd, but it has not been ruled out that Barcelona could make a fresh attempt to sign him permanently later in the summer.

The Blaugrana had been keen to renegotiate their agreement with Man Utd and to either lower the purchase fee or extend the loan by another season, but the Red Devils insisted on the €30m figure, despite Rashford's clear desire to stay in Catalunya.

Man Utd raid Leeds?

Man Utd are exploring a deal for Leeds goalkeeper Karl Darlow, talkSPORT reports.

The 35-year-old finished the season as Leeds No.1, but his contract is expiring, giving clubs the ability to try to sign him on a free transfer. Darlow would join the Red Devils as a backup to Senne Lammens, with Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana expected to be sold this summer.

Should this transfer indeed materialise, Darlow would become the first player in 22 years to move from Leeds to hated rivals Man Utd. Winger Dan James joined Leeds from Man Utd in 2021.

New targets

A few new names have emerged on Man Utd's radar ahead of the summer, Sky Sports claims.

Lille forward and Belgium international Matias Fernandez-Pardo could become an option for the flanks at Man Utd. The 21-year-old has also been linked with Liverpool in recent days. Any attacking signing will hinge on Joshua Zirkzee departing.

Additionally, Lazio's Nigeria international Fisayo Dele-Bashiru could be an option for the midfield. The 25-year-old is open to a Premier League move, but he is not pushing to leave Italy.
