Exclusive: Man Utd plot Mateus Fernandes offer
Man Utd are planning on submitting an opening offer for West Ham United midfielder Mateus Fernandes in the coming days, FootballTransfers has been told.
The 21-year-old has emerged as a top target for Michael Carrick’s side following an excellent debut season at the London Stadium, and Man Utd are keen to bring him to Old Trafford this summer as they prepare for their first campaign back in the Champions League since 2023-24.
Fernandes is expected to leave West Ham before the end of the summer window, amid significant transfer interest, and sources have informed FootballTransfers that Man Utd are planning on making a serious offer for the 21-year-old in the coming days.
We understand that Man Utd’s first bid for Fernandes is likely to be in the region of €75 million (£65m), although this is below West Ham’s current valuation of the player.

Carlos Baleba talks
Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba has reportedly spoken to Bruno Fernandes regarding a possible move to Manchester United this summer.
The Cameroon international was heavily linked with an Old Trafford switch last year and it’s understood that personal terms were fully agreed before the deal collapsed due to Brighton’s asking price of over €115 million.
Baleba is still on their radar ahead of this summer and The Sun have now reported that he has been in contact with the aforementioned Fernandes and Matheus Cunha regarding a possible move/
Baleba is said to have spoken to both Fernandes and Cunha after Man Utd’s 3-0 win at the AMEX Stadium on the final day of the Premier League season, with Baleba in talks with the latter “at length” in the tunnel following the match.
The Cameroon star also interacted with Patrick Dorgu in the mixed zone after the game, while it’s understood that he is close with former Lille team-mate Leny Yoro and international colleague Bryan Mbeumo.
Nathaniel Brown blow
Man Utd are set to miss out on Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nathaniel Brown to Bayern Munich, according to multiple reports.
The Red Devils were linked with a move for the Germany left-back ahead of this summer, but it’s been revealed that he has already reached a full agreement on personal terms to join Vincent Kompany’s side.
Meanwhile, talks are ongoing between the two clubs, with Bayern very close to making him their first summer signing.
Marcus Rashford offer
Arsenal have been made aware of Marcus Rashford’s availability by intermediaries acting on Man Utd’s behalf, as per TEAMtalk.
Barcelona have opted against signing the England star on a permanent deal this summer, after purchasing his international colleague Anthony Gordon instead, and he is therefore set to return to Old Trafford after the World Cup.
However, Man Utd don’t want to keep him and they have reportedly begun offering him to clubs across Europe, including Arsenal.
Mamadou Sangare offer planned
Man Utd are preparing an opening offer for RC Lens midfielder Mamadou Sangare, according to reports in France.
Liverpool are understood to be keeping close tabs on the midfielder’s situation, in addition to AS Monaco star Lamine Camara, while Man Utd have now joined the race to secure his signature when the 2026 summer transfer window opens on 15 June.
That is according to Foot Mercato, who report that Michael Carrick’s side are preparing an offer for the Lens midfielder, who is currently valued at roughly €40m. It’s claimed that “more than a dozen” clubs are interested in signing Sangare this summer, although Lens are yet to receive a formal bid for his signature ahead of the summer window.
Lewis Hall and Antonee Robinson wanted
Man Utd have added Fulham star Antonee Robinson to their list of summer targets, while they are continuing to monitor Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall amid their pursuit of a new left-back.
That is according to Sky Sports, who report that Carrick’s side want to bolster their options at left-back following confirmation of Tyrell Malacia’s exit and Patrick Dorgu’s recent emergence as a left winger.
Hall is considered to be their primary target for the role, although Robinson has been earmarked as a potential alternative.
